Hovercraft Rental Experience

A growing number of hovercraft rental operators choose Hov Pod Hovercraft to provide 5-minute experience flights, or "Learn to Fly Hovercraft Days" so if you would like us to provide details of operators near you, just contact us for further information so we can put you in touch.

Rather than compete with our customers, we no longer provide rental experiences directly. The Hov Pod SPX TCC is designed with customer safety in mind, so we fit safety features not found on other hovercraft. For example, the Hov Pod hull is made from extremly strong and very buoyant High Density Polyethlyne, and we fit a rear fan guard (who wouldn't !). It doesn't sink easily, you'll need a small elephant to get water to ingress into the hull -over one ton or 1027 Kgs

The Hov Pod is designed not to plough-in to the water - other race type hovercraft are known for their nose diving abilities, not nice at speed. The Hov Pod is designed to lift up to 4 adults from an on water start, smaller hovercraft often cannot lift 2 so have to revert to emergency back-up power - the paddle.

If you are interested in starting your own rental hovercraft business, request out rental calculator, and details of multiple craft discounts, customer referral scheme and rental hovercraft specification sheet.

Hovercraft Experience 2009

A number of Hov Pod dealers and rental operators now offer hovercraft experience rides and hovercraft training. If you haven't experienced hovercraft flying before, then you have something to really look forward to.

Our mini cruiser Hovercraft are built for safety and comfort, though they can reach a top speed of in excess of 40 mph. You fly above the ground at a typical cruising altitude of 9 inches. Hovercraft are especially exciting when traveling over land to water to land transitions.

The ride sensation is hard to put into words, but imagine that you are levitating on a "Back-to-the-Future" type hovercar where you have no contact with the ground. As you are floating, it feels really comfortable, and as you let the revs increase, a blast of air will gently speed you on your way. No wheels, or brakes for that matter, so you can either stop by slowly reducing your speed, or by effecting a controlled 360 spin.

Hovercraft flying is so wonderfully addictive, so make a day of it and bring your friends for a great day out.

PS We still need operators and instructors in some areas, so contact us via the Info button if this opportunity sounds interesting.
